Bobby Luther Gough, 85, of Mt. Nice, S.C., husband of Jacqueline W. Gough, handed away peacefully Might 12, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, cherished grandfather, brother, and pal. His celebration of life service was held Monday, Might 16, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Nice Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. at 12 p.m. Entombment with army honors adopted in Mt. Nice Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Street. Bobby was born April 3, 1937, in Yadkin County, son of the late John M. Gough and the late Nina Sizemore Gough. He belonged to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Nice. Bobby might be discovered studying his bible most days and putting his religion in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He quietly lived his religion in humble service to his beloved spouse Jackie for almost 65 years and his cherished kids and grandchildren. It was his robust religion, dedication, and loving household assist that sustained him via fifty years of heart-related points, and with every setback he bounced again. He will probably be remembered for his perseverance and zest for all times. His robust work ethic took this small city boy to high-level administration with Mutual of Omaha the place he labored for 26 years. He gained many journeys that allowed he and his spouse to journey the world collectively. Bobby beloved and lived to serve others and really lived his life by the Golden Rule. Even whereas he was simply recovering from a coronary heart transplant, he was driving church associates to MUSC for dialysis. His household lovingly referred to him as their “Little Miracle Man.” To know Bobby was to like him. A kinder, gentler man has by no means lived. Bobby will probably be remembered by all who beloved him for his giving nature and spirit of generosity. His life motto was “It is higher to offer than to obtain.” He will even be remembered for his innate means to see the most effective in folks and circumstances. He at all times noticed the “glass half full.” As his loving caregivers recounted to the household, his grateful coronary heart for each little factor saved everybody’s spirits excessive, even on the toughest of days. His parting phrases to his household “I will get via this” will probably be their guiding mild till they meet once more. “Be robust and brave. Don’t be afraid, for the Lord your God goes with you; He won’t ever go away you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6. Bobby is survived by his spouse, Jackie Gough; kids, Gina Robards (Jay) and Todd Gough (Blair) all of Mt. Nice; two brothers, Paul Gough, and Jerrell Gough (Linda) each of Winston Salem; sister, Mary Frances Wilmoth of Yadkinville; sister-in-law, Ellen Gough of Lewisville; six grandchildren, JB, Mary Beth, Grace and Bobby Robards; Kaitlyn and Kelsey Gough; and plenty of nieces and nephews. He’s preceded in demise by his sister, Lois Purdue, his brothers, Wallace Lee “Buddy” Gough and Gilbert Gough, and his brothers-in-law J. C. Wilmoth, and Carly Purdue.
