KUCHING, March 20 — A male suspect in his 20’s was arrested by the police after he was discovered inside a premises that was allegedly stealing electrical energy for cryptocurrency mining in Kota Samarahan round 1.40pm yesterday (March 19).
Kota Samarahan district chief DSP Sudirman Kram in a press release immediately stated the seized had been 131 mining machines, six web routers and one desktop laptop unit.
“The raid was performed by the district’s Prison Investigation Division along with Sarawak Vitality Berhad based mostly on the knowledge that we’ve got obtained,” stated Sudirman.
He added that police must compelled their entry into the premises situated on the Kuching Outer Ring Street by slicing open a padlock on the principal entrance.
Checks contained in the premises revealed that the electrical energy provide to all the premises was illegally linked to the principle electrical energy meter.
All of the seized gadgets had been then delivered to the Kota Samarahan police district headquarters for additional motion.
